POPI Act
This page is a modernized summary of the consent and acknowledgments content published on the live Expansive Accounting POPI page.
Purpose of processing
In line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, Expansive Accounting may process personal information to communicate with clients and business contacts, deliver accounting and entrepreneurial support services, perform obligations under agreements, and comply with statutory requirements.
Depending on the service relationship, this may include identification details, contact information, business records, and other information reasonably needed to support service delivery.
Sources and sharing of information
Information may be collected directly from the data subject, from prior records, or from relevant statutory and public institutions where this is necessary for the agreed services.
Where appropriate, information may be shared with institutions or third parties involved in lawful processing, including regulatory or public bodies connected to the requested services.
Consent and consequences
The live POPI page explains that consent is requested for the processing of personal information and notes that, where consent is withheld, Expansive Accounting may be unable to perform certain functions or provide requested services.
It also explains that some processing may still occur where permitted or required by law.
Your rights
You may ask to access your information, request corrections where records are inaccurate, or withdraw consent subject to legal or contractual limitations that may still apply.
Requests and POPI-related enquiries can be directed to the Information Officer at info@expansiveaccounting.co.za.
